On Friday we went to Denmark. My parents friend, Brother Wiklof, volunteered to show us all around Copenhagen. He was a terrific tour guide! He first drove us around Copenhagen to the major sites and then we walked the rest of the time.

The Famous Harbor
The MallBrother Wiklof showed us where to buy the most delicious danish pastries and chocolates. Mom and I wanted to look around and shop more but we didn't have time.
The streets of Copenhagen
We headed to Stroget the longest pedestrian shopping street in the world. We window-shopped and then had dinner at a Middle-Eastern Restaurant located on the street.
This whole mural is done by Legos. Parker especially would have loved this store!

The church was bright and beautiful inside. It was different than the other cathedrals and churches we had seen in Sweden and Denmark.
The church was bright and beautiful inside. It was different than the other cathedrals and churches we had seen in Sweden and Denmark. I thought I would include a little history that explains the Christus and Apostles: "The famous Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen was assigned to decorate the interior of the Cathedral by creating the sculptures of Christ and the twelve Apostles together with the font. The statue of Christ above the altar captures the attention and creates a peaceful atmosphere for the entire church with its gentle welcoming gesture.The twelve apostles are placed in the nave and each statue represents a symbol that is associated with each apostle. In front of the altar is the beautiful baptismal font made of Italian marble and shaped like a guardian angel that holds the font. The font and the rest of the marble works in the church was Bertel Thorvaldsen's personal gift to the church."
The Christus in Salt Lake is a replica of this Christus. If you look closely there is something written in Danish on the top and bottom of the Christus. Brother Wiklof translated it for us and it reads, "This is my beloved son, hear Him" and under the Christus is reads, "Come unto me."
Each Apostle was magnificent. I took a picture of each one but only included this one on the blog. This is the apostle Peter and in his hands he is holding keys.
After our adventures, we were able to do a session in the temple. It was the perfect end to the trip!
